Kenneth Davis - To Be A Child Again

To Be a Child Again by Kenny Davis br br I see the children of today br Their smiles take me away br To my times as a child br And the games that I would play br br To be a child again br Means to be taken to an imaginary place br Where a box could be a house or race car br Or a ship in outer space br br To be a child again br Means Mother is God in my eyes br My father is like my hero br Like Superman in the skies br br To be a child again br There are many times, I would smile from ear to ear br I would jump into my parent’s loving arms br With nothing left to fear br br To be a child again br Full of bedtime stories and fairy tales br Whether it was Jack and the Beanstalk br Or Jack and Jill with their water pails br br To be a child again br My life filled with Mother Goose br The tails of Humpty Dumpty br And Green Eggs and Ham from Dr. Seuss br br Now that I have grown br I recall my times as a child br So young, so innocent br So reckless and wild br br To be a child again br My parents would wipe away every tear br It is all of those tender moments as a child br That I will always hold dear br br © June 2009 k.
