Theodora (Theo) Onken - (((A Summer Elegy)))

The flowers are now shattered br Their thorns bleed the rose br A Basket full of withered Daisies br Where the wild sunflower still grows; br br 'Tis a backfall of listless last days br Oh, the grey simply swallows you br Gone are the blistering days of Summer br As Autumns amber breaks in anew; br br The shadows growing e'er longer br Gold and russet leaves fly away br Surounded by temporary graves for the Tulip br No where for the Meadow Lark to play; br br The morn ' air carries its crispness br While the dew, too soon, becomes frost br Woeful cries stir from all of Nature br In mourning, for Summer Days, now lost; br br br November 2,2011 br br By: Theodora Onkenbr br Theodora (Theo) Onkenbr br
