laying at the bottom of a dark abyss br crying out, pleading in desperation br up from these ashes i hope to rise br fighting to emerge from this deep pit br clawing my way through strife i climb br cutting the strangling vines of fear br wrapping tight around me, choking br breaking free, through the darkness br a ray of light and warmth cuts through br seeing hope of making it out alive br standing at the top you are waiting br reaching out to take your offered hand br giving me one last burst of strength br you start to pull me up, till we lock eyes br my smile fades, and my heart sinks br as i read in your hateful piercing glare br all the angry words that burn so deep br noticing how i was fooled yet again br trying to hang on, fear overtakes me br my hand starts slipping from yours, br pushing me, ripping your hand away br sending me falling through anguish br shattering as i crash back to the bottom br all hope escaping, no strength remains br as i land back down amongst my ashes.
