Elizabeth Tyease Collins - All I Wanted

Elizabeth Tyease Collins - All I Wanted

As long as the days grow longer br and sudden tears shed that are prone, br I'll walk this Earth with my heart in a jar br And I'll live life alone. br br When the days never seem to end br and I try my best to stay strong br nothing in this world could be as bad br as spending it alone. br br In my bed I'm merely sitting here br writing this sweet and sad poem br meandering the dream of a broken dream br but still feeling so alone. br br The voices in my head agree br that life isn't fair, br that they want to scream and grab onto br what really isn't there. br A life once so rich is now so bitter and prolonged. br What's the point of trying? br I'll end this alone. br br So life will go on br and more tears will be shed, br a grief will fill the hearts br of the people that love me dearly br but watched me fall apart. br They line up dreary to my coffin with a stone br engraved with love br 'You were never alone.' br and that's all I needed.
