Warrith Olawale - Like A Falling Star

Warrith Olawale - Like A Falling Star

The sunset began before my eyes, br Angels sinking their heads in soulful cries. br The soldier's thumping footfalls fade away br The oldman now drags his atrophied feet about all day. br The mud of life soon taints br The white garment of birth so quaint. br And as the smoke rises in the air br Displacing the tranquil wind everywhere br br The human life spans like a sunset br The beginning phase being the brightest. br I know the music of this valley has taught me how br Like a falling star, life creeps its way down br Before the face of the world engrossed with sunset br As the traders start displaying their wares br To the sight of their common costumer- the thirsting tyrant br Whose thin long cane yearns for victims br And the displayed wares- throbbing human hearts br Their value; their dignity wanes before life's long cane, br Like that falling star.
