Mark R Slaughter - Waiting

Mark R Slaughter - Waiting

It's in the eyes, br Emerging, br Young - history green - br Mystery doesn't play on this occasion; br br Elegance does - br Lays foundation - br Dignity is all, br Underpinning dare with balance: br The veil to sight, diaphanous at best - br Not so the inner one. br br That look longs for settlement, br Hides a room - empty for the moment - br Door ajar, yet hinges tight: br Urge of womanhood is br Waiting in a lonely glass of wine: br br How long to hide -? br Hanging on a move br To break the vestiges of matrimony. br br An urge trickles to the surface: br Still another wall! Thicker! br When to flood the space with bloom, br Advertise that slenderness of arm? - br Flout her personality; br br But readiness for taking simmers cool, br Falters back to nascence - br Fear of fighting fights with desperation. br br Beauty at the bar - br Brown flits of eye - br A flash of yet-to-be, br Wine shared.
