Valerie Dohren - I

Valerie Dohren - I

Her breast was warm and tender was her face br Secure was I within her long embrace br Protected from the pain of human care br It seemed that I was ever part of her br br But then I stirred awakened by the dawn br The time had come at last and I was born br The sun shone brighter than I`d seen before br I looked around and she was there no more br br Then from hell`s kingdom sprang a raging fire br To fill my heart with longing and desire br Within my mind I knew that I was I br A thousand times to live, a thousand times to die br br (Oh who was he who tore me from her breast br And left me here to weep with grief possessed br To wander through earth`s shadows I alone br Yet seeking him through whom I must atone) br br Her tears as rain spilled down upon the earth br To soothe away the pain of mortal birth br And `neath the waters glowed the sun`s pure light br Through softly fading shadows of the night br br (Where earth meets heaven dwells the sacred dove br And there I seek to find his perfect love br The sun will shine e`er brighter than before br In death`s abode when I am I no more)br br Valerie Dohrenbr br
