My life has grown ever so long br Over the evergreen to red clay and desert sands br From The Pacific and Puget Sound to Pecos River dry br Covering nearly half of God's great land; br Today, i move in smaller circles... br I am in fine company with the Blue Jay and Wren br Touched and kissed by the Butterfly and Bee... br And fragranced by a Pink Rose, now and then; br Smiling all the while in such brillant light br This Texas sun-simply glows... br But never shall i ever forget the gentle rains that fell br That helped Washingtons evergreen to grow; br And when that day has finally come br That i know life for me is all but done...
