Valerie Dohren - Lament

Valerie Dohren - Lament

Cradled deep in my mother`s womb br My soul and hers entwined br With each heart beating soft and low br Two lives in one combined br br I heard the murmur of her voice br And felt her gently sway br As tenderly she carried me br Within her through each day br br She bore me as a mother will br In joyfulness and pain br And held me close against her breast br My life there to sustain br br And though my newborn eyes were dim br My senses yet still furled br I gazed upon her loveliness br My life, my heart, my world br br (I`ve ne`er beheld a smile so sweet br Nor yet a face so fair br A vision hewn from misted pearl br With eyes beyond compare) br br I felt her love envelop me br Protective as I grew br Oh she was everything to me br Was all I ever knew br br And through my childhood`s magic years br Of innocence and light br No clouds were there to hide the sun br No everlasting night br br But then she chose to end her life br (The misted pearl waxed grey) br And liquefaction of her soul br Left mine to fade away br br (If only I could see her now br And touch her once again br Then I would surely be reborn br Slip back from whence I came)br br Valerie Dohrenbr br
