Eric Cockrell - America, Grieving

America, grieving... br your oily fingers on br the wheel of the world, br your black heart of prejudice... br you pull the crumbs br from the mouths of the needy, br and litter your walkways br with the bones of children. br br you poison your own crops, br and defile your own water. br you educate your children br in prisons dark, and br on foreign sands fighting... br for freedom, no! br you batter the people of color, br bruise them with your stars and stripes... br your hanging trees condemn you! br br you cut the hearts out br of your working people, br and feed them fear and lies. br the stench of your excesses br rises to meet god, br the god you've created br in your blackened jealousy. br br you taunt the spirit br with cries of freedom, br free speech, free thoughts... br and then break it with the br oppressive load of your debts. br Wall Street and big oil, br and the corporate demons... br no democracy here! br br America, grieving...
