William Blake Beckett - Man In The Sand

Man in the sand br wearing a cloak br rags and scrap cloth br seethed as he choked br on tears of anguish br on the thick, dark smoke br coming from home br to me, wind spoke br br of a terrible crime br of broken dreams br of mothers' cries br and children's screams br of families, gone br for what it seems br pure suffering br what hatred brings br br Man in the sand br a dark cloud loomed br the sky was ablaze br and the thunder boomed br Alone and in pain br he knew what he'd do br revenge must be had br yet he had no clue br br for dark times came br as night and day br and try as he might br still would he stray br from the path he followed br so he kneeled to pray br to promise the world br those who did this, would pay br br He found not the men br who kidnapped his wife br not a trace of the ones br who took his son's life br Not a dropp of rainwater br or a mere hunting knife br to fight for survival br to end civil strife br br But on his last leg br exhausted and weak br he took his last breath br and fell off his feet br for this moral blight br was too tough to beat br Man in the sand br may you now rest in peacebr br William Blake Beckettbr br
