Lonnie Hicks - Summer Fire

Lonnie Hicks - Summer Fire

Summer's Eyes shine br br sublimely br br penetrating deep in ocean br br mine br br tattoos upon my consciousness br br which Summer illuminates br br but she, too, burns br br from giving more heat br br than I can withstand br br a searing of my soul br br I, am, the moth to her flame; br br a supplicant br br intoxicated by her Summerness br br her Sherazade br br her Red Burning Flower br br her mere attention; br br I chased her light br br but was consumed by her heat br br seared heart returning time and time again br br to her cobalt inferno kiss.. br br She was my incendiary addiction br br from which I tried br br time and time again to retire br br from her and her fire br br which attracted me so- br br the lady with the red hair br br and green eyes- br br my Summer fix. br br But now I look rather to br br those with Spring's touch br br No fault of Summer here br br she was captured and bound inside her own lovely bloom, br br but I had to recognize br br in fact br br I'm more at ease br br with Spring's Empathies br br than with fiery Summer flowerings. br br The many chased after Summer's Heat br br But now I know I am more suited br br to relish Spring's offerings; br br than Summer's Insouciance br br rather than her too ripened, br br too wise Summer flower br br over-sure of its own beauty br br oblivious of Moths and Flames.
