Valerie Dohren - Sunset

`Tis now the lantern of the day br Shall slowly start to slip away br To fall into a distant place br Beyond the earth and set in space br br The closing of the day embrace br br The sky ablaze with fiery glow br Reflected on the ground below br As shadows drift across the land br Like cloaks of darkness softly spanned br br The clouds above yet strangely fanned br br Then threads of silver light remain br Should e`er the fading day complain br Before the night shall chase away br The dying embers of the day br br So turning all to steely grey br br With shimm`ring fall of evening mist br `Pon glist`ning leaves by moonlight kissed br And eerie silhouetted spires br Against the backdropp of the skies br br For ever now the sunlight dies br br As evening steals away the glow br That lingers on the earth below - br Then she who shines with tender face br Upon the land bestows her grace br br Then takes the heavens all apace br br The trees are still, the birds asleep br All silent now, as growing deep br The day turns slowly into night br As with the fading of the light br br And as all dreams shall now take flight br br So gently close your eyes and rest br Sleep softly now at her behest br As night-time takes you to her breast br For he now slumbers in the westbr br Valerie Dohrenbr br
