Arthur Symons - In the Temple

Arthur Symons - In the Temple

When Lilian comes I scarcely know br If Winter wraps the world in snow, br Or if 'tis Summer strikes a-glow br The fountain in the court below, br When Lilian comes. br Her flower-like eyes, her soft lips bring br The warmth and welcome of the Spring, br And round my room, a fairy ring, br See violets, violets blossoming, br When Lilion comes. br br When Lilian goes I hear again br The infinite despair of rain br Drip on my darkening window-pane br The tears of Winter on the wane, br When Lilian goes. br Yet still about my lonely room br The visionary violets bloom, br And with her presence still perfume br The tedious page that I resume br When Lilian goes.
