White diamonds sparkle in the sand br And speckle darkened skies br Green em`ralds flash in glist`ning seas br Then glint in envious eyes br br Blue sapphires dance in wand`ring streams br To shine in summer`s hue br With amethyst in heather set br In lavender there too br br Bright rubies sway in poppy fields br To glow in fires of red br Are captured in the flow of blood br From heroes lying dead br br Then pearls so lustre in the clouds br As through the sun defined br Whilst topaz sets my heart aglow br In fields of corn entwined br br The golden lambent sunshine glows br When risen high at noon br With misty robes of silver then br Soft draped around the moon br br Such beauty lingers `pon the earth br On mother nature`s gown br These burnished jewels yet deeply set br In her adorning crownbr br Valerie Dohrenbr br
