Charles Sangster - Crowned

Charles Sangster - Crowned

Her thoughts are sweet glimpses of heaven, br Her life is that heaven brought down; br Oh, never to mortal was given br So rare and bejewelled a crown! br I'll wear it as saints wear the glory br That radiantly clasps them above- br Oh, dower most fair! br Oh, diadem rare! br Bright crown of her maidenly love. br br My heart is a fane of devotion, br My feelings are converts at prayer, br And every thrill of emotion br Makes dearer the crown I would wear. br My soul in its fulness of rapture br Begins its millennial reign, br Life glows like a sun, br Love's zenith is won, br And Joy is sole monarch again. br br My noonday of life is as morning, br God's light streams approvingly down; br Uncovered, I wait her adorning, br She comes with the beautiful crown! br I'll wear it as saints wear the glory br That radiantly clasps them above- br Oh, dower most fair! br Oh, diadem rare! br Bright crown of her maidenly love.
