Why wouldn't Eve have eaten of the fruit? br Didn't she have a hand to reach out with, br Fingers with which to make a fist? br Didn't Eve have a stomach for feeling hunger, br A tongue for feeling thirst, br A heart with which to love? br br Well, then, why wouldn't Eve have eaten of the fruit? br Why would she merely have suppressed her wishes, br Regulated her steps, br Subdued her thirst? br Why would she have been so compelled br To keep Adam moving around in the Garden of Eden all their lives? br br Because Eve did eat of the fruit, br There is sky and earth. br Because she has eaten, br br There are moon, sun, rivers, seas, br br Because she has eaten, trees, plans and vines. br br because Eve has eaten of the fruit br br there is joy, because she has eaten there is joy. br br joy, joy- br br Eating of the fruit, Eve made a heaven of the earth. br br Eve, if you get hold of the fruit br br don't ever refrain from eating.
