Georg Trakl - A Spring Evening

Georg Trakl - A Spring Evening

Come evening, friend, who surrounds my forehead with darkness br br Gliding on paths through soft-green sowing. br br Also willows beckon solemnly and calmly; br br A beloved voice whispers in the branches. br br The tranquil wind floats beautiful things here from somewhere, br br Scent of daffodils which silverly touches you. br br In the hazel bush the blackbird makes music - br br A shepherd's song gives answer from the firs. br br How long the small house has disappeared br br Where now a birch copse gushes; br br The pond bears a lonely constellation - br br And shadows rounding silently in the goldenness! br br And time is so miraculous, br br That one looks for angels in human glances br br Which delight in innocent play. br br Yes! Time is so miraculous.
