Whatever happened to gratitude? br Is it dead, or just taking a break? br Could somebody tell me why 'Thank you' br Is so hard a gesture to make? br br When someone does you a favour, br Without thought of personal gain, br Are those two simple words too demanding? br Does it bring about physical pain? br br I was taught to treat others with courtesy, br To be civil, respectful, and warm. br A casual 'Cheers, mate' was frowned on. br That would have been judged as bad form.
