Serbian freediving champion Brank Petrovic made history on October 10 when he set a new world record for the longest breath held under water on a single breath of air. The unique attempt was performed three days’ previously in Dubai and saw Petrovic hold his breath for a mind-blowing 11 minutes and 54 seconds. Despite a number of false starts, he comfortably exceeded the previous record, set in 2009, of 11 minutes and 35 seconds. Credit: YouTube/Guavo Media
