Victims of violence perpetrated by the right-wing opposition in Venezuela have established the Committee of Victims of the “Guarimbas” and the Continued Coup. During the first quarter of 2014, the right-wing opposition attempted to overthrow the Bolivarian government through violent acts, attacks on public buildings, and the placement of barricades (known as "Guarimbas") in strategically located areas. These activities were condoned and even organized by local right-wing governments in opposition of the Bolivarian government.
