ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)br br STORY: "Into The Woods" moves from stage to screen.br br Director Rob Marshall has assembled an all-star cast for the film version of Stephen Sondheim's 1987 Broadway musical that includes Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick.br br Streep was the first actor cast in the film by director Rob Marshall.br br On the red carpet Streep explained why she took the role.br br "I love the music and I believe in the American musical as the - our own and, you know, art form that we invented. And we've let Andrew Lloyd Webber steal a lot of the thunder, she said jokingly.br br "No, there is room for everybody. But it's our American art form and it's - you know, we happen to have the greatest living composer working, which is Stephen Sondheim," Streep added.br br A series of fairy tale princesses collide in this so-called "modern twist on several beloved fairy tales.
