Louis-Victor-Pierre-Raymond, 7th duc de Broglie, (15 August 1892 – 19 March 1987) was a French physicist who made groundbreaking contributions to quantum theory. In his 1924 PhD thesis he postulated the wave nature of electrons and suggested that all matter has wave properties. br br A hitherto troubling wave–particle duality, arrives in 1905 with the Einstein's explanation of the photoelectric effect (by postulating the existence of photons). De Broglie conceived, in his thesis, a model where the duality vanishes, and extended this embryonic pilot-wave model to material particles, conceiving the matter wave; this was later known as the "de Broglie hypothhttp:en.wikipedia.orgwikiLouisdeBroglieesis". He won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1929, after the 1927's experimental confirmation of de Broglie hypothesis.
