The blockade on Gaza Strip has been called the “longest in history”, and it has been almost seven years that the Palestinians have been suffocating by the Israeli embargo. While the Occupation is cunningly imposing collective punishment on the Palestinian people, the resistance keeps on the track more powerfully than ever. These people have shown they are not doomed to oblivion, never, ever.
The series “At the Heart of a Siege” deals with the issue of Gaza Siege from new angles most of which have not been dealt with so far. The series includes six episodes each probing into a singular facet of the issues related to the blockade of the Gaza Strip in depth. In three of the episodes the filmmaker provides new insights into the newfangled fronts the Israeli camp has created in its Modern Occupation. In “The Hacker Force”, we see how the Palestinian youth come to know about the threats Israel’s cyber war has posed on the Palestinian nation and try to counterattack it via different strategies. “The Drug Assault” touches upon new fronts in the Occupation-Palestine conflict where the Occupation employs drug trafficking in the whole area. The resistance, however, is completely aware of this nasty plot and has taken various measures to overcome the problem. “Education in the Crosshairs” puts into perspective the different obstacles the siege has caused when it comes to educational issues in terms of financial, social, and cultural dimensions.
The other three episodes present new aspects of established topics with a particular focus on the modern-day developments. In “The Voice of Women”, we come across a new generation of Palestinian women who actively participate in media affairs and come up with innovative ways of expressing themselves and the problems of the nation. “Global Solidarity” is an effort to depict the international activists’ assistance and enthusiasm which act in harmony with the Resistance to neutralize the Occupation’s new wars. These contributions are manifest at different levels including agricultural, medical, economic, and humanitarian. In “The Resistance”, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which has been long active in the military resistance against the occupation, introduces its other significant contributions to the well-being of the Palestinian community in various aspects.
Despite all the disgusting plots, surprisingly, the Israelis are waging wars which they are not prepared to win at all.
