Uruguay approved the Audiovisual Communication Services Law, also known as Media Law, which regulates licensing of radio and TV frequencies and guarantees 60 national production of media content. While journalists and media employees regard the law as a positive change over previous regulations, conservative parties say it is a 'gag' law against freedom of speech.
