Due to the recent European Parliament's approval of the Generalized System of Preferences, 90 of Ecuador's exports enter European countries without paying duties. However, the challenge is to get more products with added value and made by small enterprises to enter the European market. Ecuadorian small producers and entrepreneurs welcome the trade agreement signed between Ecuador and the European Union in 2014, which will come into force this year and will enabled them to increase their exports of added value products.
