ADNAN OKTAR: God creates guidance and faith as a privilege. That is because for guidance and faith to exist, that person should possess a soul.  He should be supported by the Holy Spirit. This is also described in the Judaic accounts: “I am I because I am I, and you are you because you are you – [ then I am I, and you are you!]" A person with a soul is aware of his own existence. As it is said, ‟Know yourself, if you know yourself [you will know your Lord.. ]” That also is coming from Sufism. If a person is unaware of his own existence that means his perception is clouded. He would then fail to grasp the Existence of God. He becomes like cattle. [As the verses state]; “They have eyes they do not see with. They have ears they do not hear with.”   “It is not their eyes which are blind but the hearts in their breasts which are blind.” This is what is meant by hearts in their breasts.
