Mexico struggles to live up to economic expectations

Despite President Enrique Pena Nieto's optimism, the Mexican economy only grew 1.9 in 2014, almost half of what had been expected. Poverty and inequality numbers did not fare well either, as experts feel three important factors contributed to the economic slowdown: a fall in international oil prices, a weakening peso against the dollar, and the government's loss of credibility in the eyes of investors.
