"Fast and Furious" was a US-backed operation that was implemented in Mexico with the support of then-president Felipe Calderon to smuggle more than 2,000 high-powered weapons into Mexico. Many of these weapons have been used in carrying out serious human rights violations since it is not known where they ended up.
