Greece: PM Tsipras tells anti-bailout cabinet he is seeking a 'viable and fair' solution with EU

Fresh from success in Sunday’s general election, Greece’s new Prime Minster Alexis Tsipras has chaired his first cabinet meeting – setting out the priorities for br his anti-bailout government.br br Firmly opposed to the austerity imposed on Greece by its EU and IMF br creditors, he pledged to negotiate a viable and fair solution with the European Union.br br The international mood towards Greece is changing, Tsipras said, vowing to restore the country’s dignity and self-confidence.br br Short of an overall majority,his left-wing Syriza party has formed a coalition with the right-wing Independent Greeks. Both parties share an anti-austerity outlook.
