Hundreds of Spaniards who suffer serious malformations caused by the German drug thalidomide are demanding that Madrid pressure the Grünenthal pharmaceutical company to pay them due compensations. Thalidomide was a prescribed to pregnant women during the second half of the 20th century to fight nausea, but it caused thousands of children to be born with malformations.
