Afghanistan: UN report documents rise in civilian casualties

Last year was the worst year for Afghan civilian casualties. A UN report says that 3600 people were killed in the country in 2014, a 25 increase over the year before. The figures contradict official government and military assurances of an improved situation and higher life expectancy in the war torn country.
