One of the victims of a university shooting went to the emergency room complaining of a headache and it was discovered he had bullet fragments lodged near his ear.

On Monday, February 23rd, assailants opened fire on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Though the shots were intended for a specific target, three bystanders were hit.

One of them, whose ear had been grazed but declined treatment at the time, didn’t realize the extent of his injury until days later.

On Wednesday 19-year-old Juayne Jones went to an emergency room seeking treatment for a headache.

Upon examination doctors learned that the student had a bullet fragment lodged in his head.

Though his injuries aren’t life threatening, they are serious enough for doctors to recommend that the student should seek further treatment.

Police are continuing to look for the individuals who fired the shots on the campus.
