US Assistant Secretary of State for Hemispheric Affairs Roberta Jacobson met privately with Josefina Vidal, Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry official in charge of relations with the United States. A US delegation headed by Jacobson is in Havana for the third round of talks aimed at reestablishing diplomatic relations. Both sides agreed to keep the lines of communication open.
