Obama's remarks about Venezuela not being a national security threat to the U.S. were made on a visit to Jamaica. Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller praised Obama for being on the right side of history with his actions to thaw relations with Cuba. Obama was attending a gathering of Caribbean leaders on his way to the OAS Summit of the Americas in Panama.
