Microsoft’s Paul Allen finds wreck of legendary Japanese WWII battleship Musashi

The battleship Musashi was the second ship in the Yamato class of Imperial Japanese WWII warships and was sunk during the Battle of the Sibuyan Sea, near Leyte in October,1944 by American carrier based aircraft.br br The Musashi’s sistership the Yamato was sunk in April of 1945 around 290 kilometers south of Kyushu.br br The two Yamato-class ships were the largest battleships to ever be constructed.br br The Musashi was found in the Sibuyan Sea near the Philippines by a deep sea exploration team funded by Paul Allen, multi-millionaire and co-founder of Microsoft, earlier this month.
