Earlier this month in Mexico, Kassandra Bravo, a 19 year old student nurse went missing after failing to show up for a babysitting job. Her mother filed a missing person’s report.

Three days late, the woman’s skinned body was found in the ditch. Her face was so badly disfigured, authorities had a difficult time identifying her.

Kassandra’s stepfather was the primary suspect, after friends told police that Kassandra planned to reveal to her mother that her stepfather had sexually abused her for a period of four months. Under police questioning, the stepfather has confessed that he killed the teenager, but said he did not sexually abuse her and he did not mutilate her body.

He said he had gone over to pick her up for the babysitting job and they had an argument when she wasn’t ready. He says he killed her and dumped her body.

An autopsy showed Kassandra had been strangled.
