Video of a pregnant mother seal giving birth is a reminder of nature’s wondrous circle of life.

It will also put you off your lunch.

The footage was shot by a visitor to the Donna Nook National Nature Reserve in the UK. The seal has an interesting back-story.

According to reserve officials, the mother is known as ‘Ropeneck’ because it came to the sanctuary a year ago getting tangled in a fishing rope, which staff had to cut.

Seals typically give birth every November and December.
