Update: Cleveland cop had ‘dismal’ handgun performance, former boss says br ----------------------------------------br br A 12-year-old boy shot by police outside a Cleveland recreation center when he reportedly reached for his toy gun died of his injuries on Sunday, the medical examiner’s office said.br br Officers were called to Cudell Commons on Saturday when the police received a call that a person was wielding a gun and scaring others with it. After arriving at the scene, the officers ordered the boy to raise his hands. br br The boy, Tamir E. Rice, reportedly lifted his shirt to reach for a pistol he had tucked in his waistband, prompting one officer to fire at least two shots.
