In primary elections held in Buenos Aires, candidates backed by the conservative PRO party of Mauricio Macri came out ahead, as expected. In results from 23 of the polling stations, the two candidates of the opposition party together took nearly 48 of the vote, while there was a slight rise in votes cast for smaller leftist parties.
