In Germany, the designer Bartholomäus Traubeck has developed into "Years", a concept record player capable of playing slice of a tree barter transcribing the music. The machine reads the wooden circle in the same way as a conventional platinum reads the grooves of a vinyl record except that it transcribes the imperfections of wooden piano notes, to give life to surprising pieces. br br Unlike a conventional turntable, this system does not use a diamond but sensors that collect information on the color and texture of wood. An algorithm then translates the variations piano notes. A slice of oak, walnut, maple or beech becomes an amazing piano improvisation as if nature gave life to music. A clever and enchanting process that will soon be available in a real audio vinyl format. Meanwhile just enjoy the simplicity and singularity of this very conceptual art.
