A man caught a baby after it fell from the window of a second-story apartment Sunday in China's Guangdong Province. An onlooker captured the event on video.

According to reports, the 1-year-old child was looking for its mother in the midst of a downpour. The baby crawled onto a window, two stories up. A vendor across the street spotted the baby and alerted a resident, surnamed Li, who ran to offer help. Another resident, surnamed Hu, joined in on the rescue efforts.

The men stood under the window — prepared to catch the baby if it fell.

Onlookers held their breath as they watched baby drop two stories into the arms of the men below. One man caught the wet baby and the other secured the grab.

A small group of people gathered around the heroic men. A woman, who may have been the mother of the child, emerged from the crowed covering the baby and ran off camera to escape the rain and humiliation.
