Taiwanese abducted in Malaysia, family receives ransom call from the Philippines

A Taiwanese businessman and his girlfriend were attacked by a Philippino terrorist group, Abu Sayyaaf, in Malaysia last week. At the Pom Pom Island resort, 57-year-old Hsu Lu Min was shot dead and his girlfriend, 58-year-old Chang An-wei, was kidnapped. Taiwanese Interior Minister Lee Hong-yuan confirmed that the family has received phone calls from the Philippines demanding a ransom. A rescue mission has been undertaken jointly be the Philipino and the Malaysian police forces.
