Blues legend BB King has died, aged 89.br br The guitarist is credited with opening up the Blues to a mainstream audience.br br His deep singing voice, combined with a unique style of guitar-playing gave him an instantly recognisable sound.br br King began performing in the 1940s and, until recently, was giving around a hundred concerts a year. Known as the King of the Blues, he has received 15 Grammy Awards since 1971.br br In the 1980s he was diagnosed with diabetes – a condition which saw him hospitalised in April, 2015. In May, he announced he was receiving hospice care from home.
