French overseas territories: Army helps young people get on career ladder

pThe Adapted Military Service Regiment was created 50 years ago in Martinique, well before the end of conscription in France. It currently only exists in France's overseas territories. Its aim is to bring underachieving young people back on track. The army provides a framework and job skills to over 5,000 people every year, with encouraging results.pbr The model has been so successful that it could soon make its way to mainland France.
