With the retirement of current chief secretary of Gujarat D J Pandian on Sunday, May 31, 2015, the state government appointed IAS officer G R Aloria for the post. A 1981-batch bureaucrat, Aloria currently serves as the additional chief secretary of Urban Development Department.
