SteamOS ANNOUNCED (Escapist News Now)

SteamOS will run on any living room machine and have all the functionality of the Steam client.br br Valved said, "In SteamOS, we have achieved significant performance increases in graphics processing, and we're now targeting audio performance and reductions in input latency at the operating system level."br br They are focusing on four new features for the living room experience including In-home Streaming where you can play all your Windows and Mac games over your home network, which is also part of their Family Sharing which was recently announced. Sharing allows users on the same computer to share games while earning their own Steam achievements and saving individual game progress via the Steam cloud.br br Plus Valve is working with unnamed media services to provide access to movies, tv, and music via the SteamOS along with more options for parents to control what their kids have access to.br br This is just one of 3 announcements Valve has teased, with the next one coming on Wednesday.
