New ‘See-Through’ Glass Frog discovered in Costa Rica

A new species of glass frog has been discovered in Costa Rica by Brian Kubicki. It is an indication of a healthy eco-system in the country's southern Talamanca mountains. Scientist Brian Kubicki said the tiny, semi-translucent glass-frog specimen, which he named 'Hyalinobatrachium dianae', is very delicate and its presence "is a good indicator of the general health of the eco-system. "The new species, of which six specimens have been found so far, is clearly different due to its colouring, skin texture and the distinctive sound of its call.Glass frogs are only found in certain parts of Central and South America and are characterised by skin so translucent that their organs are visible.br br Video Courtesy: Associated Pressbr br ------------------------------------------br br Subscribe to our channel: br Follow us on Twitter: br Like us on Facebook: br Watch more videos at: br hindustantimes.
