Mexico’s government has offered a US$3.8 million reward for information leading to the capture of fugitive drug lord Joaquin “el Chapo” Guzman, who escaped a maximum security prison on Saturday. Secretary of the Interior Miguel Angel Osorio Chong has admitted that the leader of the Sinaloa cartel counted on the complicity of prison and government officials, noting that he escaped despite the fact that he always wore an electronic bracelet and was under constant surveillance in a special closed circuit system installed in his cell.
