Hot Five Jazz Makers-Forgetting You

Hot Five Jazz Makers-Forgetting You

A track from a 1995 concert at the Muddy York, during the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival on a hot sticky June night. Janet Shaw, playing alto sax on this track, sings a rare gem from 1928 - "Forgetting You" - DeSilva Brown Henderson - credited to "McKinney's Cotton Pickers" but in actual fact recorded by the "Jean Goldkette Orchestra" - Only Milton Senior from the Cotton Pickers was on clarinet! The H5JM recorded this on their first CD "Live In Toronto" in 1995 which is still available. Charlie Gall is on trumpet; Rainer Hunck -- tenor banjo; Colin Bray -- string bass; Graham Scriven -- drums and Brian Towers leads on trombone.
